The purpose of the Immigrant Education Program is to assist eligible local education agencies that experience unexpectedly large increases in their student populations due to immigration. This program helps immigrant children and youth by helping with the transition into American society while providing quality instruction to help these students meet the same challenging state performance standards expected of all students.
