These classes are for adults who are non-readers or who read below the third grade level. Adults work with a tutor on a one-to-one basis to learn reading and writing skills.

The mission of the adult literacy programs is to enable every adult learner in the area to acquire the necessary basic skills — reading, writing, computation, speaking, and listening — to compete successfully in today's workplace, strengthen family foundations, and exercise full citizenship.
