English as a Second Language
Adult
Education ESL classes are designed to teach adult
learners to speak English and improve the learner's
lives through the learning process.
Instructors assist students to learn to read, write,
and comprehend the English language, thus improving
their opportunities for substantial employment and
allowing them to better participate in the lives of
their children.
Part of this basic instruction includes information
and activities that teach community awareness and
encourage civic responsibility and involvement.
Students will obtain a better understanding of the
banking, health, legal, education and government
system in the U.S.
All ESL classes are free of charge and no
documentation is required to enroll. As an added
bonus, some of our locations offer free childcare
services while parent(s) are attending class.

Language Civics
This program is for adults with limited English
proficiency. It may include (but is not limited to)
classes on the following subjects:
Basic
Academic and Function Context Skills
Communication Skills - Use of appropriate greetings,
introductions and farewells, using a basic
residential telephone
Civic Rights and Responsibilities - Citizenship,
voting, how to be a responsible citizen and
community member
Participating in Public Forums - Participating in
PTA meetings, getting involved in your child's
education, effective communication, communication
via telephone
Community Resources - Who can help? Where to get
help? Public Services, asking the right questions,
obtaining a library card, accessing educational and
workforce systems, banking
Helping Others
Employment Skills - Applying for a job, completing
a job application, required forms of identification
for employment, interviewing
Students must be at least 16 years of age. No
documentation is required.
Migrant Recruitment
This program helps identify and track migrant
students in order to help them receive a quality
education. This program helps teach parents how to
find resources for their children as well as how to
keep children in school.
